ResizeImage.dev is committed to publishing accurate, useful, and trustworthy content about image optimization, web performance, and privacy-first tooling. This page describes how we write, review, and update our content.

1. Editorial Standards

Every tutorial, guide, and blog post published on ResizeImage.dev follows these standards:

• First-hand experience. Content is written by people who actively build and use the tools described. We do not publish generic SEO filler rewritten from other sites.
• Technical accuracy. Format specifications, browser compatibility claims, and API references are checked against authoritative sources (W3C, WHATWG, MDN, browser release notes, library documentation) before publication.
• Plain language. We explain why something matters, not just what to do. Terms of art are defined the first time they appear.
• Privacy-first framing. Because ResizeImage.dev itself is privacy-first (browser-side processing, no uploads), our content consistently surfaces privacy implications of every technique we describe.

2. Sourcing & Citations

When we make a factual claim about image formats, compression algorithms, or web standards, we cite the primary source where possible. Acceptable sources include:

• Specifications (W3C, JPEG XL, AVIF reference implementations)
• Library documentation (mozjpeg, libvips, sharp, Pillow)
• Browser release notes and compatibility tables (caniuse.com, MDN)
• Independent benchmarks published by reputable third parties

When we cite a benchmark we did not run ourselves, we credit the source and link to it. When we cite our own measurements, we publish the methodology (sample size, tool versions, hardware) so readers can reproduce or critique the results.

3. Original Research

When we publish a benchmark, study, or experiment, we commit to the following:

• Methodology disclosure. The dataset, tool versions, hardware, and procedure are described in enough detail to be reproducible.
• Raw data when practical. For studies involving measurements, we provide the underlying numbers (CSV or table) so readers can verify or build on them.
• Honest framing of limitations. Every measurement has caveats — sample bias, hardware differences, library version drift. We state them upfront, not as a footnote.

4. Conflict of Interest

ResizeImage.dev operates free image tools supported by Google AdSense advertising. Our editorial content is independent of advertising decisions:

• No paid placements. We do not accept payment to review tools, write positive coverage, or modify rankings in our comparison articles.
• No advertiser preview. Advertisers do not see or approve our content before publication.
• Affiliate links disclosed. Where we link to a third-party product we use and recommend, we disclose affiliate relationships clearly (see our advertising disclosure).

5. Review Process

Posts go through the following review before publication:

1. Draft. Written by the author, who owns or operates the relevant tool.
2. Technical review. Checked for accuracy against current specifications and library versions.
3. Editorial review. Read for clarity, completeness, and the editorial standards above.
4. Schema and metadata. Structured data, alt text, internal links, and metadata are added.

6. Corrections & Updates

We correct factual errors promptly and visibly.

• Minor corrections (typos, broken links, small clarifications) are made without a public changelog entry.
• Substantive corrections (incorrect technical claim, outdated browser compatibility, wrong measurement) are noted in an Updates section at the bottom of the affected article, with a date stamp.
• Retractions are reserved for content that turned out to be substantially wrong despite our review process. Retracted articles remain accessible at the same URL with a clear retraction notice.

7. Reader Feedback

If you believe a post on ResizeImage.dev contains a factual error or could be clearer, please contact us. We read every message and incorporate substantive corrections into our update queue.

8. AI-Assisted Content Disclosure

We use AI tools (large language models) to assist with drafting, editing, and code generation. Every article published on ResizeImage.dev is reviewed by a human author before publication. AI is a tool, not an author — the responsibility for accuracy, originality, and tone remains with the named author.

When AI assistance is significant enough to mention, we note it in the article footer.

9. Author Information
